The Outsiders live up to their name by flatly refusing to work within the expected constraints of international law and propriety. The current version of the team is committed to taking proactive action-squashing meta-human and alien threats before they even have the chance to become threats! The original Outsiders included Black Lightning , Metamorpho , Looker , Halo , and the Markovian noble Geo-Force. Based in Gotham City and backed financially by Bruce Wayne , the hero team were an outgrowth of Batman’s frustration with the political constraints under which the Justice League of America were forced to operate.

Once Scientist Prime on distant Colu , Vril Dox attempted to overthrow his technologically advanced world’s Supreme Authority. Dox paid for his rebellion by being disintegrated. Yet somehow , his computer-like mind remained intact , traveling thousands of light years to Earth. Using his vast telepathic and psychokinetic abilities , Dox possessed the body of a sideshow mentalist named Milton Fine , to become the power-hungry Brainiac. When Fine’s body proved too frail to contain Brainiac’s power consciousness , he sought more suitable hosts , each time coming into opposition with Superman. Over the years , Brainiac has been constantly upgrated. The skull-shaped vessel attempted an attack on the Earth. It took Superman and other heroes to repel the invasion and avoid panic in the skies
